Associate Public Information Officer

About the role

The United Nations Office for Partnerships is seeking an Associate Public Information Officer to support its communication initiatives. Reporting to the Chief of Section, the incumbent will work closely with the team to develop and disseminate information across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Track, research and analyze information on assigned topics, assess news value and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
• Draft and compile communication products such as press releases, media packets, briefs, newsletters, website content, video clips and other materials for target audiences.
• Assist in developing and maintaining information‑system project plans, schedules and budgets, and help identify required human and technical resources.
• Contribute to the preparation of user requirements and technical specifications for information projects.
• Organise clearance, production and distribution of information material, including photo and graphic research.
• Prepare articles or chapters for UN newsletters, periodicals, reports and publications.
• Identify information opportunities and propose communication approaches tailored to specific topics and audiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with key contacts and strategic partners to enhance communication efforts.
• Support the organisation of productions, broadcasts, conferences, press briefings, interviews and prepare briefing materials for senior officials.
• Respond to internal and external information requests and draft related correspondence.
• Collect and analyse data, identify trends and present insights using graphs, charts, tables and data‑visualisation methods for data‑driven planning.
