Associate Attorney – Commercial Agreements

About the role

Qualcomm is looking for an Associate Attorney to join its San Diego legal team. The attorney will focus on drafting, negotiating and managing commercial agreements that support Qualcomm’s diverse technology businesses. The role involves advising internal stakeholders on customer, supplier and channel transactions while ensuring legal and business risks are properly addressed.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of commercial agreements across Qualcomm business units.
• Provide counsel to internal teams on standard contracts, key commercial terms and system‑related questions during customer onboarding.
• Identify and mitigate legal and business risks in negotiations and support ongoing business opportunities through effective contracting.
• Assist legal team members on cross‑functional projects, including business‑unit initiatives and M&A activities.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture, demonstrating flexibility and accountability.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate (or international equivalent) and an active bar license or ability to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• At least 2 years of experience as counsel at a top‑tier law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Experience with technology‑focused transactions and a background in intellectual property.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, sound legal judgment and the ability to work independently.
• Self‑starter with intellectual curiosity and a client‑service orientation.
