About the role
The Assistant Professor (MD) in Surgical Oncology will provide comprehensive surgical care to patients while contributing to the academic mission of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This tenure‑track faculty position combines clinical practice, education, and research.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality surgical oncology patient care and ensure continuity across the care continuum.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows through didactic lectures, bedside instruction, and clinical rotations.
- Engage in research collaborations and scholarly activities that advance clinical medicine.
- Participate in community outreach and departmental initiatives to promote health education.
Required profile
- MD or DO degree.
- Completed General Surgery residency.
- Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology.
- Eligibility for an Arkansas medical license and American Board of Surgery certification.
- DEA license or eligibility.
