Assistant Professor, Kinesiology – Athletic Training

About the role

The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a full‑time, nine‑month tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Kinesiology with a focus on Athletic Training. The appointment will begin in Fall 2027 and supports the growth of its CAATE‑accredited Athletic Training program.

Key responsibilities

• Teach master’s‑level Athletic Training courses and undergraduate kinesiology classes in a CAATE‑accredited program.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship, and research supervision for MS‑AT students.
• Assist with recruitment, selection, and retention activities for the graduate program.
• Prepare and submit annual and self‑study accreditation reports for CAATE, SACS‑COC, and the university.
• Maintain an active scholarly agenda and contribute service to the university, community, and profession.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of the Athletic Training Program and the Department Chair.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (or ABD with degree conferred at appointment) in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated record of scholarship, including publications and potential for ongoing research.
• Experience or interest in teaching athletic training at the graduate or undergraduate level.
• Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification and active NATA membership.
• Valid NPI number and eligibility for Texas Athletic Training licensure.
• Documented clinical experience in athletic training.

Required skills

• Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
• CPR/AED/First Aid Professional Rescuer Instructor or BLS Instructor qualification.
