About the role
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Arkansas seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2027. The appointment is a 9‑month, full‑time faculty position focused on teaching, research, and service.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering and related areas.
- Develop and maintain an active research program leveraging the university’s semiconductor facilities.
- Provide service to the department, college, and university through committees and outreach.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics completed by the start date.
- At least two years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience in semiconductor‑related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to attract external research funding.
- Experience mentoring students or staff.
Required skills
- Semiconductor electronics and photonics.
- Power electronic devices.
- Artificial intelligence and neuromorphic computing.
- Quantum computing.
- Micro‑electromechanical systems (MEMS).
