Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering (9‑month tenure‑track)

About the role

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2027. The position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting cutting‑edge research, and contributing to departmental service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality instruction and mentorship to students at all levels.
• Develop and maintain an independent research program focused on semiconductor electronics, photonics, and related areas.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a closely related field by the start date.
• At least two years of post‑doctoral or equivalent research experience, with a record of securing research funding and mentoring students.

Required skills

• Semiconductor electronics and photonics.
• Power electronic devices.
• Artificial intelligence, neuromorphic computing, and quantum computing.
• Micro‑electromechanical systems (MEMS).
