Assistant Examiner Internship

About the role

The Assistant Examiner Internship provides a summer experience within the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit (SRC) department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Interns rotate through three supervision business lines, participate in bank examinations, and gain insight into the Federal Reserve’s role in overseeing financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through three supervision business lines.
• Participate in examinations at the Federal Reserve Bank and/or a state member bank.
• Communicate findings and conclusions of supervisory activities to examination staff and senior management.
• Handle highly sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
• Observe and participate in relevant meetings to gain an extensive overview of the department.
• Take part in a bank simulation exercise.
• Collaborate with other interns to create and deliver a presentation on the internship experience.

Required profile

• Rising senior with a minimum 3.3 GPA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong project‑management, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (no sponsorship available).
