About the Position
As the Assistant Director of Engineering, you will serve as the strategic right hand to the Director of Engineering, playing a pivotal role in overseeing all hotel operations, both interior and exterior. You will lead a talented technical team to ensure seamless facility operations and uphold the high standards of excellence our guests expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and maintain critical building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electricity, and distribution.
- Manage Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management protocols to optimize efficiency.
- Implement and oversee comprehensive preventive maintenance programs.
- Plan and manage external service providers, coordinating repairs and large-scale technical projects.
- Directly mentor, develop, and lead the engineering team to foster professional growth.
- Manage departmental financial aspects, including P&L understanding and basic accounting.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable safety codes and industry standards.
Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience in a technical or engineering management role, preferably in hospitality.
- Strong ability to manage complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse technical team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting and coordination.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs.
- Physical capability to lift, push, or pull moderate weight as required by the role.
