About the role
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is seeking an Assistant Collections Manager to support the Raysor Center for Works on Paper. This position offers a dynamic environment for an innovative, detail‑oriented, and collaborative professional to work directly with the museum’s extensive works on paper and photograph collections.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the physical and intellectual stewardship of more than 30,000 works on paper and photographic objects.
- Support the facilitation of collection access for study, exhibitions, and loan requests.
- Help maintain the study room that serves students, researchers, staff, and the public.
- Collaborate with curatorial and conservation teams to ensure proper handling and documentation of objects.
