Assistant Athletic Coach - Men's Basketball Program

About the role

The Assistant Basketball Coach supports the operation of Central Georgia Technical College's men's basketball program, assisting with coaching duties at practices and games. The role also helps the Head Coach with recruiting, monitoring academic progress, scheduling, travel, scholarships, and overseeing student‑athlete discipline and image.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with coaching duties during practices and games.
• Support the Head Coach in recruiting prospective student‑athletes.
• Monitor and report on student‑athlete academic progress.
• Coordinate game schedules, travel arrangements, and scholarship administration.
• Oversee discipline, conduct, and public image of student‑athletes.
• Maintain compliance with Technical College System of Georgia policies and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or documented two years of coaching/program experience.
• Submission of transcripts or certifications demonstrating qualifications.
• Preferred: documented experience coaching an organized college‑level team sport.

What we offer

• Contingent hourly salary of $15.50.
• Part‑time position with membership in the Teachers and Employees Retirement Systems of Georgia (though not eligible for retirement benefits, state insurance, leave, or holiday pay).
