Assembly and Inspection Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Assembly and Inspection Technician to join BASF’s Performance Materials team in Wyandotte, Michigan. In this role you will help ensure the quality of finished parts and assemble components into final products that support sustainable plastics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect molded parts for defects according to work instructions and quality standards.
• Assemble components to create finished parts, following standard procedures.
• Sort parts based on labeling, physical requirements and other criteria.
• Move and organize bins, boxes and other materials throughout the production area.
• Collaborate with inspectors, assemblers, supervisors and material handlers to meet production targets and reduce waste.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
• Team‑oriented attitude and good communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift at least 30 pounds.

Required skills

• Operation of inspection equipment.
• Use of assembly tools and fixtures.
• Material handling and bin organization.
