Art Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Art Teacher to join Boston School International, part of the International Schools network. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging visual arts lessons, fostering creativity and critical thinking in a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum, incorporating varied instructional strategies and technology.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment and implement effective behavior management techniques.
• Develop, administer, and analyze assessments to monitor student progress and provide targeted support.
• Promote student engagement and motivation through inclusive practices and recognition of achievements.
• Participate in professional development, staying current with educational research and best practices.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive relationships.
• Contribute to curriculum development and ensure instructional materials are up‑to‑date and relevant.
• Uphold ethical standards, school policies, and safeguarding procedures.
• Support extracurricular activities, serving as a mentor and role model.
• Collaborate with counselors and special education staff to address individual student needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education.
• Certification in Fine Art.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme preferred.
• Working knowledge of curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
