Armed Security Officer – New Mexico

About the role

Vaxcom Services, a Parsons company, is seeking an Armed Security Officer to protect personnel, property and information at a New Mexico facility. The role involves maintaining a professional presence while delivering high‑quality security services in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Control access by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles and verifying identification.
• Patrol the site on foot, bike or vehicle and enforce post orders.
• Respond to fire, medical, bomb threats, hazardous material incidents and other emergencies.
• Observe, document and report suspicious activity or incidents.
• Escalate force appropriately, up to armed response, following the Use of Force policy.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned weapons, control devices and equipment.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Minimum age of 21 years (required to carry a firearm).
• High school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Pass a basic physical fitness test and complete New Mexico Armed Guard Level 3 certification (paid).
• Meet minimum standards with a Glock 17 pistol and M4‑style rifle.
• Preferred: two years of U.S. Armed Services service, three years of armed security experience, or related security education.
