Armed Security Officer – Colorado (Vaxcom)

About the role

Parsons’ Vaxcom Services is seeking motivated Armed Security Officers to protect personnel, property, and critical infrastructure in Colorado. The role involves controlling access, conducting patrols, and responding to emergencies while maintaining a professional presence.

Key responsibilities

• Control access to the facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and verifying identification.
• Enforce post orders, company rules, and facility regulations.
• Perform security patrols on foot, bike, or vehicle.
• Observe and report suspicious activities and incidents.
• Respond to fire, medical, bomb threats, hazardous materials, and weather‑related emergencies.
• Apply appropriate levels of force according to Use of Force policy, including armed response when necessary.
• Assist and direct visitors or personnel as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum age 21 to carry a firearm.
• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or higher in a security‑related field is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Eligibility for and ability to maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Pass a standard physical fitness test.
• Two years of active‑duty military service (Reserves or National Guard acceptable).
• Three years of experience in physical security (armed or unarmed).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Glock 17 pistol.
• Proficiency with M4‑style rifle.
• State‑specific Armed Guard certification (training provided).
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain.
