Architect – Commercial Projects

About the role

WJA Design Collaborative is seeking an experienced Architect to lead complex commercial projects from concept through construction administration. The role offers a collaborative environment where you will guide junior staff and work closely with firm leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural work across all project phases, from planning and schematic design through construction administration.
• Develop design concepts, working drawings, specifications, code reviews and technical narratives.
• Collaborate with clients, firm leadership and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality solutions for complex commercial projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture (B.Arch., M.Arch. or equivalent) with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience; licensure preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to sustainable, holistic design.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and adapt to multiple project roles, from management to production.
• Creative problem‑solving and solid conceptual/schematic design abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit, Sketch‑up and AutoCAD.
• Experience with rendering tools such as Twinmotion (or similar).
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
• Expertise in construction documents, code review and construction administration.
