Applied AI Engineer

About the role

Cognition is building end‑to‑end AI software agents, including Devin, the first AI software engineer. As an Applied AI Engineer you will embed with enterprise engineering teams to deploy and scale Devin, turning AI research into measurable productivity gains for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with engineering teams to drive adoption of Devin, owning outcomes beyond initial onboarding.
• Design and implement agentic workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product functions.
• Lead interactive programs such as live workshops and pair‑programming sessions.
• Guide customers through installation, configuration, and optimization of Devin and related tools (DeepWiki, MCP integrations).
• Quantify impact by tracking productivity metrics and building ROI stories.
• Collaborate with leadership to turn field learnings into repeatable playbooks and best‑practice documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward‑deployed engineer, or solutions engineer.
• Strong coding proficiency and ability to communicate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
