Applied AI Architect – Startup Focus

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Architect to join its Startups team in San Francisco. In this role you will act as a trusted technical partner for early‑stage companies, guiding them from initial discovery through successful deployment of solutions built on the Claude Developer Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Account Executives to understand startup requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Lead technical evaluations that showcase Claude as the optimal foundation for startup use cases.
• Provide architectural guidance to founders and engineering teams, aligning designs with best practices for AI product scaling.
• Collect insights on how startups use Claude, identify emerging patterns, and feed this information back to Product and Engineering.
• Represent Anthropic at customer sites, startup events, and industry conferences to conduct workshops and deep‑technical sessions.

Required profile

• 3+ years in a technical, customer‑facing role such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward‑Deployed Engineer, or technical founder.
• Experience working with startups or high‑growth technology companies and an understanding of their rapid development cycles.
• Proven credibility as a software engineer or technical founder, with the ability to earn the trust of technical founders and engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of building and scaling AI products, especially large language model (LLM) solutions.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience designing, building, and deploying LLM‑powered applications.
• Strong understanding of AI engineering best practices and evaluation frameworks.
