Android Developer – Mobile Platform for Aviation Tech

About the role

We are a fast‑growing aviation technology company looking for an Android Engineer to build and scale a mission‑critical mobile platform used by operational teams in real‑world field environments. You will shape product requirements, develop new Android features, and deliver a reliable, intuitive experience for users working in low‑connectivity conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end Android development, from system design and UX implementation to feature development and testing.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and operations to deliver new mobile capabilities.
• Build scalable, performant Kotlin‑based applications for global operational use.
• Translate user feedback into actionable product and UX improvements.
• Maintain UI/UX consistency for rugged field conditions and intermittent connectivity.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Contribute to the long‑term roadmap and architecture of the mobile platform.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVI.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs with offline caching and error handling.
• Hands‑on experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android practices.
• Comfortable working in a startup environment with high ownership.
• Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate.
