Analyst I – Laboratory Analyst (Novi, MI)

About the role

The Analyst I will perform routine and complex sample preparation and instrument analysis in a laboratory environment. This position supports timely delivery of high‑quality analytical results to clients while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples and conduct instrument analysis with minimal supervision, meeting required turnaround times.
• Process and review post‑analysis data, ensuring quality control before client release and uploading to the laboratory information management system.
• Perform peer review of analytical data generated by other analysts to identify quality issues.
• Determine workload from inventory management system, prioritize tasks, and meet laboratory benchmarks.
• Maintain instrument hygiene, perform simple routine maintenance, and follow safety protocols.
• Investigate and resolve quality control issues, contributing to process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Applicable analytical experience, including sample preparation and data processing.

Required skills

• Sample preparation using concentrated and dilute acids.
• Instrument analysis techniques such as IC Spectrophotometry, ISE, and UV/Vis.
• Use of analytical balances, pipettes, chemical exhaust hoods, and laboratory ovens/furnaces.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
