About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an Algorithm Developer to join the Metrology and Process Control team within Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP). You will create in‑situ metrology and control algorithms that enable real‑time process monitoring for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Develop in‑situ metrology and process‑control products for CMP tools.
- Define system requirements in collaboration with internal teams.
- Design and execute exploratory experiments for C&F system development.
- Implement algorithms that regulate CMP process parameters.
- Specify hardware‑software integration and support system‑level debugging.
- Guide product transition from C&F stage to production release.
- Provide technical expertise on CMP metrology and process‑control issues.
- Travel to customer sites to deploy new technologies.
Required profile
- M.S. with 3‑5 years experience or Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Self‑motivated with ability to meet deadlines under moderate guidance.
Required skills
- Python, Java, Matlab programming.
- Statistical data analytics techniques.
- Control system design and implementation.
- Signal processing and algorithm development.
