About the role
The Airport Duty Supervisor acts as the management representative overseeing all aspects of Dayton International Airport operations when senior managers are absent. The role ensures regulatory compliance, safety, and efficient airport services, including handling customer issues and coordinating wildlife and snow‑removal procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily airport operations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including FAA and TSA requirements.
- Address customer complaints, resolve operational problems, and maintain safe and secure facilities.
- Enforce airport ordinances and oversee compliance for users, tenants, contractors, and the public.
- Implement and monitor wildlife control procedures in line with the airport’s Hazard Management Plan.
- Monitor airfield temperature and weather conditions, directing snow removal for runways, taxiways, aprons, parking lots, and roadways, and issue field‑condition status per regulations.
- Assist in preparation for the annual FAA Certification Inspection and maintain the Airport Certification Manual.
Required profile
- Associate’s degree in a related field with 5 years progressive experience at a Part 139 certificated commercial airport, or a Bachelor’s degree in Airport Management, Engineering, or related field with at least 1 year of airport operations experience.
- Valid driver’s license at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations, FAA/TSA certification requirements, and wildlife management regulations.
- Successful completion of background investigations, fingerprinting, medical examination, drug screening, and nicotine testing as required for employment at Dayton International Airport.
