Aircraft Support Mechanic (Entry-Level)

About the role

The Aircraft Support Mechanic (ASM) is an entry‑level position within Delta's TechOps organization. Working on the flight line, you will help maintain the safety and reliability of Delta’s fleet by supporting aircraft interior and system maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections to identify damage, defects, or wear that could affect safety or customer experience.
• Report findings and recommend repair, replacement, or modification of aircraft equipment.
• Test machinery, components, and parts for defects using appropriate equipment.
• Install, remove, or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components following drawings, schematics, and engineering orders.
• Repair worn or damaged parts such as seat gears, tray tables, and wiring/electrical components.
• Troubleshoot equipment or system operation problems and interpret discrepancy logs.
• Maintain accurate repair logs and documentation of all maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Current satisfactory performance in present position (if internal transfer).
• Demonstrated commitment to privacy and safety standards.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Interpretation of technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and engineering orders.
• Aircraft inspection and defect identification.
• Repair of aircraft interior components (e.g., seat gears, tray tables, wiring/electrical).
• Installation and removal of aircraft structures and systems.
• Troubleshooting of equipment and system operation issues.
