AI Engineer

About the role

Normal Computing is seeking an AI Engineer to create production‑grade systems that interpret complex technical documents such as chip design specifications and transform them into executable code. You will work alongside product and engineering teams across multiple locations, delivering weekly improvements while exploring cutting‑edge AI techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end AI development from concept through deployment and iteration.
• Design LLM‑powered solutions for extracting meaning from detailed technical specifications.
• Develop agentic and multi‑modal approaches, including reinforcement‑learning and multi‑agent code generation.
• Ensure production quality by managing latency, output variance, and robust error handling at scale.
• Integrate AI capabilities seamlessly into Normal’s platform in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and define best practices for AI development.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production AI systems that use language models, especially for document understanding or agentic workflows.
• Strong software engineering background with expertise in distributed systems and production‑grade code.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
