Agriculture Inspector (Hemp) – State of Georgia

About the role

The Georgia Department of Agriculture is seeking a qualified Agriculture Inspector 3 – Hemp Inspector 3 to ensure compliance with all regulations governing hemp cultivation, processing, and sale. This position involves on‑site inspections, regulatory guidance, and collaboration with industry stakeholders to uphold the integrity of Georgia’s hemp industry.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of hemp retail locations and growing facilities.
• Verify that hemp products meet THC content, labeling, and packaging standards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal hemp regulations.
• Review and validate licensing for growers, retailers, wholesalers, and processors.
• Document inspection findings, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay current on regulatory updates and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Participate in industry meetings, conferences, and workshops.
• Collaborate with law‑enforcement and other regulatory agencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
