Agency Instructor I – Water Program (Telecommuter)

About the role

The Agency Instructor I will support the Water Program by delivering training for specialty skilled and semi‑skilled courses. Leveraging adult learning theories, the instructor will maximize learner success through online, classroom, and field‑based instruction. The role also includes technical assistance and curriculum updates as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver online and classroom instruction for water‑related courses.
• Provide field‑based skills training and technical assistance.
• Utilize various media to present course material effectively.
• Assist in creating and updating curriculum content to meet learner needs.
• Maintain technical competence and stay current with industry practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, construction, or regulation of water utility systems.
• Minimum one year of experience training adult learners.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Texas Class “B” Water license and Texas Class “B” Wastewater license (or Wastewater Collection II/III).
• 60 hours of classroom instructional experience or completion of approved instructor training courses (or ability to attain within six months).
