After‑School (X‑Care) Activity Leader

About the role

Redwood Day School is looking for an X‑Care Activity Leader to join its after‑school program for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role involves supervising and engaging K‑8 students in creative clubs, physical activities and free play, fostering confidence and curiosity.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, interact with, and engage students during the after‑school program (Monday‑Friday, 2 PM‑6 PM).
• Plan, develop and facilitate creative clubs and recreational activities.
• Maintain safety and hygiene by following school policies and health protocols.
• Set up and clean program areas, and communicate needs to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and assist with lunch, recess, and school events as needed.

Required profile

• 1–2+ years experience working with children in a school or related setting.
• Strong understanding of the social and emotional needs of K‑8 students.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and adherence to Redwood Day policies.
