About the role
The Aftercare Assistant will supervise K‑5 students during the after‑school program, providing a safe, positive environment while supporting homework completion and enrichment activities.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and engage students during aftercare hours
- Assist students with homework and academic support
- Facilitate structured games, activities, and enrichment opportunities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment
- Monitor student behavior and reinforce school expectations
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff
- Ensure accurate student sign‑out procedures are followed
- Support dismissal and transition routines as needed
Required profile
- Experience working with elementary‑aged children preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families
- Positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull as needed
