After School Assistant Teacher (Part‑Time)

About the role

The After‑School Care Assistant Teacher supports a safe, welcoming, Christ‑centered environment for elementary and secondary students at MC Preparatory. Working 12‑15 hours per week, you will supervise children during the after‑school period, build positive relationships with families, and help the program run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.
• Sign children in and out of the program, confirming parent signatures for each departure.
• Maintain organized records and program materials.
• Communicate positively with parents and staff, addressing concerns promptly.
• Adapt quickly to changing situations and follow program policies.
• Support the Preschool Director in delivering a high‑quality after‑school experience.

Required profile

• Reliable punctuality for scheduled shifts (Monday‑Friday, 3:00‑5:30 p.m.).
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.
• Flexibility to adjust to evolving program needs.
• Ability to assess situations quickly and act efficiently.

Required skills

• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ministry Safe training completion.
• Food Handlers/Child Care training certification.
• Knowledge of indoor and outdoor after‑school care spaces.
