Advanced Practice Provider – Pre‑Operative Clinic

About the role

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join its Pre‑Operative Clinic. The APP will conduct comprehensive pre‑surgical evaluations, optimize patients’ medical conditions, and ensure they are cleared for anesthesia and surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre‑operative history and physical examinations.
• Assess and stratify surgical risk, including cardiac and pulmonary evaluation.
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs, EKGs, and imaging.
• Optimize chronic medical conditions prior to surgery.
• Coordinate patient care with primary care providers, specialists, and surgical teams.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based pre‑operative care plans and educate patients on preparation, medication management, and post‑operative expectations.
• Ensure all required documentation, consents, and clearances are completed before surgery.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers regarding surgical readiness.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Arizona NP or PA license (or ability to obtain) and board certification (FNP, AGACNP, or PA‑C). Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferred 1–2 years of experience in internal medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care, or peri‑operative care, with experience in pre‑operative evaluations and risk stratification.
