Advanced Analytics Summer Internship 2027

About the role

Mapfre is seeking highly motivated and intellectually curious college students to join the Advanced Analytics team for a 10‑week summer internship from June 7th to August 13th 2027 in Webster or Boston, Massachusetts. The role offers hands‑on experience working on AI and data‑science initiatives that directly impact the business.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business and analytics teams to understand challenges and identify data‑driven solutions.
• Build and analyze datasets using SQL, Spark, and Python to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
• Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models that support strategic decision‑making.
• Participate in the end‑to‑end AI lifecycle, including data preparation, model validation, deployment readiness, monitoring, and performance evaluation.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Measure the effectiveness and business impact of analytical solutions, including validating statistical results.
• Present findings and recommendations through presentations, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Enhance and maintain existing analytics tools, models, and code using Python and SQL.
• Support Responsible AI principles such as fairness, explainability, accountability, and data privacy.

Required profile

• Graduate student (final year preferred) pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Working knowledge of Python and statistical analysis.
• Exposure to SQL, Spark, and Generative AI (GenAI) prompting is a plus.
• Passion for data, analytics, machine learning, and solving real‑world business problems.
