Adult Protective Services Case Manager (Level 2) – Augusta, GA

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services Case Manager (Level 2) to protect vulnerable adults across Augusta and the surrounding counties of Burke, Jenkins, and Screven. This full‑time position involves investigating reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation and ensuring the safety and well‑being of adults at risk.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports that meet Adult Protective Services criteria.
• Evaluate client risk levels and take appropriate actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resources to stabilize situations and prevent recurrence.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain required documentation and complete reports promptly.
• Stay current on policies, laws, trends, and developments through training and meetings.
• Perform other professional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Ability to travel daily across Augusta, Richmond, Burke, Jenkins, and Screven counties.
• Knowledge of Adult Protective Services criteria and related state regulations.
• Strong assessment skills to evaluate risk and determine appropriate interventions.
• Effective communication and documentation abilities.
