Adult Protective Services Case Manager 3

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services (APS) Case Manager 3 to investigate reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults in Marietta and Cherokee counties. This lead‑worker position conducts initial investigations, assesses risk, and coordinates protective interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports and determine appropriate interventions.
• Evaluate client risk levels and take actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resource referrals to stabilize situations.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes when necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit timely reports.
• Stay current on policies, laws, and trends through training and meetings.
• Assist regional supervisors with administrative duties and staff consultations.

Required profile

• Experience in case management, social work, or adult protective services.
• Strong knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations.
• Ability to assess risk and make prompt, sound decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
