About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services Case Manager (APS Investigator – Lead Worker) to investigate and protect vulnerable adults across multiple counties in Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports and determine appropriate interventions.
• Assess client risk levels and take actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resources to stabilize situations and prevent further abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain required documentation and complete reports promptly.
• Stay current on policies, laws, trends, and developments through training and meetings.
• Travel daily across designated counties to meet case needs.

Required profile

• Ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of protective service policies, relevant laws, and legal guardianship procedures.
• Strong documentation skills with a focus on timely reporting.
