Adjunct Vocational Nursing Instructor (Irvine Campus)

About the role

Stanbridge University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Vocational Nursing courses on the Irvine campus. The position offers flexible, part‑time scheduling for experienced nurses who want to mentor the next generation of entry‑level nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver theory and clinical instruction in classroom, skills lab, and clinical sites using approved curricula.
• Develop engaging instructional strategies that promote clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Assess student competency through exams, skills evaluations, and clinical performance standards.
• Lead pre‑ and post‑clinical conferences, facilitate reflective practice, and ensure patient safety during clinical rotations.
• Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress.
• Participate in department meetings, shared governance, and continuous curriculum improvement.

Required profile

• Active California RN or LVN license.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field.
• Minimum four years of recent clinical nursing experience, with at least one year in acute care within the past five years.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: Fundamentals, Medical‑Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, or Mental Health.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
• Previous teaching, precepting, or mentorship experience preferred.
