Adjunct Instructor – Speech/Communications

About the role

The State of Georgia invites qualified educators to join Athens Technical College as an Adjunct Instructor in Speech and Communications. This part‑time faculty position involves delivering courses across multiple campuses and potentially at local high schools, using a variety of instructional methods.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Speech/Communications courses at all Athens Technical College locations and on area high‑school campuses.
• Deliver instruction using college‑approved formats, including face‑to‑face, online, and audio/video modalities.
• Prepare course materials, assess student performance, and maintain academic standards in line with accreditation requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with at least 18 semester hours in speech or communication (journalism degrees do not satisfy accreditation).
• Strong written and oral communication skills and a solid work ethic.
• Willingness to teach at various college sites and adapt to multiple delivery methods.
• Preferred: prior post‑secondary teaching experience and familiarity with online teaching platforms, especially Blackboard.
