Adjunct Instructor

About the role

The Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas seeks an Adjunct Instructor to deliver first‑aid training to students. Successful candidates will guide learners to provide competent emergency care until professional medical help arrives, and will issue American Red Cross certification upon course completion.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct classroom and practical first‑aid sessions.
• Assess student competency and provide feedback.
• Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation.
• Coordinate with the American Red Cross to ensure curriculum alignment.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in first‑aid instruction or emergency medical response.
• Strong communication and teaching abilities.
• Ability to pass criminal background and sex‑offender registry checks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in first‑aid techniques and American Red Cross protocols.
• Capability to evaluate and certify student performance.
