Adjunct Faculty – Speech/Communication

About the role

This part‑time, non‑benefited adjunct position is within the General Education Division of Gwinnett Technical College. The faculty member reports to the Program Director of Speech and is responsible for teaching speech and communication courses to a diverse student body.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver lecture or lab material for speech and communication courses.
• Evaluate students’ progress toward learning objectives and maintain required documentation and reports.
• Demonstrate a high level of effort, trustworthiness, and adherence to feedback from the Program Director.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives for the college.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the mission of Gwinnett Technical College.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in the discipline, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field.
• Preferred: Doctorate or Master’s in public speaking or communications, or a Master’s with at least 18 semester hours in those areas.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience in diverse settings and ability to engage a wide range of student populations.
