Adjunct Faculty – Game Development (Part‑time)

About the role

This part‑time, non‑benefited adjunct faculty position is within the Computer Science Division of Gwinnett Technical College. The role reports to the Program Director for Web Design and Game Development and is compensated on a lump‑sum basis for contact hours taught.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials for courses such as Game Design, Advanced Game Physics, AI, and Mobile Development (10%).
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback on assignments and projects (25%).
• Maintain required documentation, administrative reports, and course records (10%).
• Demonstrate commitment to the college’s mission and adhere to institutional policies (20%).
• Follow direction and feedback from supervisors and contribute to continuous improvement (15%).
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives (10%).
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority when required (5%).
• Perform additional duties aligned with the college’s philosophy and needs (5%).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or Master’s with 18 graduate hours) and at least two years of relevant work experience.
• Credentialed to satisfy accrediting bodies for the assigned courses.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science and industry or teaching experience in game and web development.
• Must submit unofficial transcripts with the application and be subject to pre‑employment drug testing.

• Game development and design tools: Unity, Unreal Engine.
• Programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, PHP, Ruby, Perl.
• Web technologies: Advanced JavaScript, jQuery, LAMP stack, Node.js, ASP.NET.
• Databases: MySQL.
• Creative software: Photoshop, Flash, InDesign, Illustrator, Canvas.
