Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager leads an accounting group that produces accurate and reliable financial statements for several TAI sections, following IFRS accounting standards and corporate SOPs. The role is a key partner for the SBU, Division and Corporate Accounting, and includes training, development and mentoring of direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Manage departmental staffing and resource planning, define roles, responsibilities and career paths, and manage work schedules to meet deadlines
• Lead the hiring process for the accounting team, including interviewing, selection and onboarding, together with the Senior Manager and Human Resources
• Provide ongoing performance management, coaching, counseling and mentorship
• Participate in and oversee accounting entries and the monthly closing process to deliver accurate, IFRS-compliant monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements on schedule, reducing close cycle time and rework
• Review and approve the team's accounting entries, balance sheet and inventory reconciliations, financial data and reporting
• Work with multiple TAI sections to establish and follow effective internal controls and accurate financial reporting under IFRS and corporate SOPs, including authorization rules
• Achieve clean internal and external audit outcomes, resolve issues and remediate findings, and ensure compliance with IFRS and statutory, tax and regulatory reporting across jurisdictions
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the SBU

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field
• At least 6 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
• At least 2 years of experience supervising accounting staff
• Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards
