Accountant III – General Accounting (Shared Services)

About the role

This position is part of Boston Scientific’s Global Business Services organization and delivers high‑quality accounting expertise to the corporation. The role handles moderately complex general and corporate accounting tasks such as account analysis, journal entry preparation, financial reporting, system interface management, and month‑end close and consolidation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain balance‑sheet accounts and prepare monthly and annual accounting reports.
• Implement, maintain, and improve internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance.
• Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Create and maintain desktop procedures and supporting documentation.
• Oversee timely execution of month‑end close activities.
• Coordinate with external auditors and the SOX management team.
• Identify and drive continuous‑improvement and process‑standardisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with local sites and other BSC groups to incorporate diverse perspectives.
• Provide accurate information to internal and external partners, handling urgent and ad‑hoc requests.
• Lead or support finance and accounting projects, including system implementations and policy updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience; shared‑services background preferred.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency (B2) with strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles; lease accounting knowledge is a plus.
