Account Supervisor, Media Relations

About the role

RH Strategic is seeking an Account Supervisor, Media Relations to lead earned‑media programs for technology and education clients in Washington, D.C. The senior advisor will shape policy and business outcomes by crafting compelling narratives and securing high‑impact coverage across print, digital and broadcast platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute earned‑media strategies that advance client business, policy and reputation goals.
• Develop fresh story angles and secure top‑tier placements in national and emerging media outlets.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and producers, while mentoring junior team members.
• Provide strategic counsel on media positioning, spokesperson readiness and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage crisis communications, reputational issues and measure the impact of media efforts.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience leading earned‑media programs with a proven record of national coverage.
• Recent agency experience advising multiple technology or education clients.
• Established relationships with key national and policy‑focused journalists.
• Strong leadership, team‑mentoring and fast‑paced execution abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgment on sensitive issues.
