Access Coordinator II – Patient Services

About the role

The Access Coordinator II provides comprehensive support for patient care activities across multiple clinics, including eye, surgery, and radiology locations. Working under supervision, the role ensures smooth patient flow from registration through checkout while delivering courteous service.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, coordinate and cancel appointments using the hospital system and conduct pre‑registration as needed.
• Create new patient charts, verify insurance coverage, run eligibility checks and gather outside medical records.
• Meet, greet and assist the public, answer telephone inquiries professionally, and handle payment collection and receipt issuance.
• Assist with hospital admissions and surgery scheduling, and support Access Coordinator I duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least two years of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Basic computer proficiency, preferably with MS Office, and strong telephone etiquette.
• General knowledge of office equipment such as printers and scanners.
• Preferred: call‑center experience, registration/billing/scheduling background, and basic medical terminology knowledge.
