Academic Anesthesiologist Faculty Position

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport together with LSU Health Sciences Center is recruiting faculty physicians in Anesthesiology at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The position is academic, combining clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity within a vibrant ACGME‑accredited program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services across multiple sites, including the Academic Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, Feist‑Weiller Cancer Center, and regional ambulatory surgery centers.
• Teach and mentor 32 residents, 3 pain fellows, and neuroanesthesiology fellows, contributing to curriculum development and evaluation.
• Engage in research, publications, and other scholarly activities to advance the department’s academic mission.
• Participate in the Level I Trauma Center’s emergency and critical care response.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Eligibility for an active Louisiana medical license (visa sponsorship available).
• Strong commitment to teaching, patient‑centered care, and scholarly productivity; new graduates are welcomed with mentorship.
