ABA Authorization Specialist

About the role

Silna is looking for an enterprising prior authorization and benefits verification expert to work closely with our customers – ABA (Autism), Mental Health, IOP, and Psych Testing providers – and complete these administrative tasks on their behalf. The role also collaborates with the Silna Product team to automate parts of the verification and authorization processes.

Key responsibilities

• Collect accurate patient information from ABA and behavioral health providers and communicate authorization decisions.
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits with insurers, using portals or direct calls, and complete prior authorizations promptly.
• Follow up with insurers to ensure timely approval and provide additional information as needed.
• Manage multiple prior authorizations simultaneously while maintaining high performance standards.
• Become a subject‑matter expert in behavioral health prior‑authorization workflows for large payors.
• Share process insights with Silna Product and Engineering teams to help automate the workflow.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience completing prior authorizations for ABA or other behavioral health services.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies, benefits, deductibles, co‑insurance, and exclusions.
• Familiarity with payor portals and experience contacting payors directly.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently with urgency.

Required skills

• Experience with CentralReach EMR/EHR system.
• Experience with Rethink EMR/EHR system.
