1st Shift Tape Operator

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring a 1st Shift Tape Operator for its Sugar Lane location in Elyria, OH. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:15pm. The role keeps the tape production line running smoothly, from the start of the weaving process to the finished product on the reel, operating the machinery safely and efficiently according to work instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor parameters and adjust the loom and printer to ensure quality.
• Keep the tape print line maintained according to the Quality Manual and keep tape within tolerance.
• Perform line changes, setups and changeovers; document dimensions and report quality or production changes to the lead or supervisor.
• Load and maintain raw materials on reels and understand yarn types and their applications.
• Take part in training, safety and continuous improvement activities.
• Report unsafe conditions or broken equipment.

Required profile

• Around 1 year of equipment or machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using measuring devices and hand tools.
• Ability to follow work instructions and perform basic math.
• Physical ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours, work in noisy conditions, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs, and work in a non-climate controlled environment.
• Material handling or forklift experience preferred.
