VP of Finance

About the role

Authentic is seeking a senior finance leader to serve as the company’s VP of Finance and partner closely with the CEO. This in‑person role in New York will own the entire finance function for a fast‑growing insurance‑technology business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain the operating model, annual budget, rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and capital allocation analysis.
• Prepare finance materials for board meetings, investor updates, and leadership discussions.
• Build reporting across gross written premium, revenue, renewals, commissions, loss ratios, collateral, cash, and department‑level spend.
• Own monthly close, financial reporting, revenue recognition, and management reporting.
• Implement scalable controls for commissions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, vendor management, and reconciliations.
• Manage cash, bank relationships, debt facility reporting, and liquidity forecasting.
• Support future debt and equity financings alongside the CEO.
• Partner with external advisors on carrier, reinsurance, captive, and collateral economics.
• Oversee audit, tax, regulatory finance workstreams and coordinate with accounting, legal, tax, audit, banking, and compliance partners.
• Hire and develop a lean, high‑performing finance team as the business scales.

Required profile

• 6–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior finance leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to work with board‑level financial strategy and detailed operating models.
• Experience in high‑growth, complex technology or insurance environments.
• Strong partnership skills with go‑to‑market, operations, insurance, legal, and compliance teams.
