UX Designer (Defense Software)

About the role

Second Front Systems seeks a resourceful, detail‑obsessed UX Designer to shape interfaces for classified defense operations. You will work at the intersection of defense technology requirements and software usability, translating complex mission needs into intuitive product experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Drive prompt‑to‑prototype workflows using Claude Design, Claude Code, and Figma to create functional prototypes and high‑fidelity interfaces.
• Partner with engineering teams in rapid feedback loops, building and testing interactive prototypes with AI‑assisted tools.
• Own end‑to‑end user experience for deployment, configuration, and accreditation workflows.
• Translate compliance and technical requirements into accessible user journeys alongside product managers.
• Conduct user research with warfighters and mission operators through interviews, usability testing, and surveys.
• Maintain and scale the design system to ensure visual quality, accessibility, and consistency.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience designing complex web or SaaS applications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design process and simplification of technical workflows.
• Experience executing user‑research methodologies and turning feedback into design improvements.
• U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
