Transportation Design Engineer – Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Transportation Design Engineer – Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex roadway and highway projects in Connecticut. This senior‑level position combines technical expertise with project leadership to create safer, more efficient transportation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple highway and roadway design projects for municipal and state clients from concept through construction.
• Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Coordinate internal teams, allocate staff, and support workload planning.
• Provide technical oversight, ensure compliance with DOT standards, and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Serve as primary contact for DOT agencies, municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• Support business development activities, including proposals and client strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering, specifically roadway/highway design.
• Proven track record managing complex infrastructure projects from concept to construction.
