About the role
The Tobacco Cessation Interventionist will join the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to provide evidence‑based counseling and support to patients who use tobacco. Working within a multidisciplinary health team, you will help individuals quit smoking, improve their health outcomes, and contribute to the university’s public‑health mission.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑on‑one and group tobacco cessation counseling using proven behavioral techniques.
- Develop individualized quit plans, track progress, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and public‑health staff to integrate cessation services into clinical workflows.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Participate in community outreach and educational events to raise awareness about tobacco‑free living.
Required profile
- Current or former University of Arkansas System employee (including student or graduate assistant) eligible to work in the United States.
- Commitment to a day‑shift schedule and ability to work onsite at the Little Rock campus.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
