Technical Specialist – Hardlines Engineer

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Hardlines Engineer provides technical, client and business‑line support for the Americas region within Bureau Veritas’ Consumer Products Services Division. The role drives new product opportunities, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains technical leadership across hardlines, toys and juvenile products.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of industry best practices and provide technical insight to clients and internal teams.
• Develop and update internal SOPs, methods, work instructions and standard interpretation practices for the assigned service line.
• Respond to technical inquiries promptly, draft technical training sessions, and support global consistency of processes.
• Monitor regulatory changes, update testing methodologies, and ensure compliance with regional standards.
• Collaborate with Lab Managers, Business Development and Account Management to integrate new services and support RFP processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field (Master’s preferred); MBA a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of customer‑facing technical experience, with 10 years in the assigned service line or related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations, manage technical projects and travel up to 20 % within the USA.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
